So borring days at the ITS helpdesk definitely have their perks. Plenty of time to roam the internet for example! Apparently some guys figured out a way to control iTunes using motion sensors built into the new PowerBooks. Then there’s other random stuff like this adaptor for cell Nikon phones that let’s you make “waved” messages in the air using LEDs. This guy has some great photos to demostrate! Makes even my slick lil Kyocera Slider seem hum-drum.
ha HA! There’s a TON of cool stuff comin up for me, yessssss! In the slightly more distant future I’ve got another “big” b’day comin up. I dono if I completely buy into some being bigger than others, but birthdays are fun no matter what. So… um… wish me a happy b’day On a completely unrelated note, this weekend is looking to be AWESOME!!! YAY for having Beth come visit over easter! As always, I’m never the best of planners, regardless it’s looking to be a pretty awesome weekend in my books! Welp, that’s all for now, enjoy the long weekend all!

In the past one thing that’s helped me learn music for choir is to just listen to it over and over… and over and since Deb didn’t have a recording of A Chant for Peace In Our Times I decided to make my own. So here’s a MIDI file you can listen to. Now, I didn’t take time to check my work note for note so if you find something wrong (thanks Andrea for pointing out a few mistakes) let me know and I’ll post a fix as soon as I can. I hope this helps a few of you! Oh, and for all of you who aren’t in GC Chamber Choir, check out the MIDI anyway and see just how crazy this piece of music is!!
Update: 4/4/05
Well I fixed the mistakes that were pointed out to me in the orignal MIDI so the above link should be right now. Of course at this point Chambers has the thing memorized buuuuuut I figured I’d just keep this up there for others to enjoy.

That’s right, who’s got John McCutchon tickets? I do! lol, alright, so I may not be as devote a follower as some people are of their bands, but I must say, McCutcheon writes some high quality music, and even manages to fit in some pretty great political cretique while he’s at it. So if you if John McCutcheon isn’t a family name to you, check him out (I’ve got a descent selection on iTunes) and then come to the concert in Sauder on April 30th. It’ll be well worth your $8!

While I was sitting waiting impatiently for my birthday to come I realized just how many holidays there are this time of year! Ok ok, so maybe not a TON, but at LEAST a few. For example, today… good ol St Patrick’s Day (happy b’day Sharon). And coming up here real soon like is Mac & Cheese Day, YESSSSS!!! And then comes Easter which is aiming to be a blast for me this year! Last but not least, April Fool’s Day where if I’m lucky I get to wreak some digital havoc, mwahahahaha.
Then I was over at Ambrosia Software’s Site wandering the forums and ended up finding a pretty great repository of random jokes! That’s right 550 ways to spend a lazy Tuesday eve. Just beware, the ratings are there for a reason, so if you don’t like the looks of his disclaimer browse carefully. But I must say, there are some real gems hidden in that list!

Have you ever noticed how much of a rip-off campus jobs are? SERIOUSLY! Today I spent 45 minutes setting up a simple printer network for a Miller Financial and got paid more than I did for working 2.5 hours today in Goshen’s lab. *sigh* But on the brighter side I suppose work in the lab has to be qualified. I ACTUALLY spent most of that time recording the extra songs from the Coldplay Live 2003 DVD so I could listen to them in iTunes! So guess what I’m listening to now? That’s right, The Scientist (Live!).
On an unrelated note have I mentioned yet that As the Apple Turns is a great site? Well, it’s true! For example, where else would I learn about great Apple look-alikes like the SUPER SHUFFLE. So I guess the most I can say is props to Apple for making more stuff everyone else wants to copy, lol.

Hours of sweat and “blood” later I now have a full complement of smilies ready for consumption. That’s right, nearly every AIM and MSN smiley at your fingertips. Have I mentioned how weird Microsoft is? Yeah, the text they use for their emoticons sometimes makes as little sense as their operating system. Regardless, euchre was pretty great tonight and the PAX movie was REAL interesting. I really need to learn more about political issues and events like that! This weekends is gonna be a long one for me. So if anyone hears of fun stuff… you know what to do

Phew! Well after putting a solid 3 days of free time into the site I now have a major upgrade to show off. That’s right, kuhnsfam.com now has full blog capabilities! Don’t ask me how often I’ll post updates, but this sure will make it a heck of a lot easier to let the wide world know what’s new on the site. And who know, maybe I’ll even indulge in all out ranting, raving, and blabbing from time to time! hehheh, you’ll just have to wait and see how “lucky” you get Regardless, I hope you enjoy the site. I’ve still got more pictures from the my spring break trip with the Men’s Choir to sort through and post in the next day or two. Hey, I’ll probably even write a new post to let you know when that happens! In any case, I hope you enjoy the new layout and feel free to leave all the comments you want, it should be fun to actually get some feedback every now and again!
Till next time!
