Here in Computer Land
Well, it’s been a little while since I’ve updated my site so under increasing pressure I’ve decided to give it a whirl and actually let everyone know what’s going on. Busyness. Since I last posted I’ve listened to Cantus, had a CRAZY finals week (and what finals week is complete with out at least one all-nighter?
), traveled to Hesston and back (YAY for more awesome weekends!), turned 21, started my May Term class, and took in a John McCutcheon concert! How’s that for some happenings? So there’s the abridged version.
My May Term class is a study of ethics and morality in computing which is proving to be quite interesting. I mean, aside from the fact that most of the class is quite subjective, the topics are definitely thought provoking. The only unforeseen aspect of the class is the reading load. Granted, it’s nothing extraordinary per-se, but coming from two semesters of almost NO reading and only 3 or 4 papers, this is quite a lunge in the opposite direction. Luckily it’s cool reading because the last week of class consists of reading and discussing Society of the Mind, a sci-fi novel… computer science profs sure know how class should be done!
New on the horizon… another trip to Hesston!!! This time for Beth’s graduation on the 8th. Luckily it looks like there will be plenty of family photographers around. So unless I am overwhelmingly unmotivated keep an eye out for new photos in the somewhat near future.
