Radio galore
Well I decided it’s time for another post of the randomness I enjoy. I don’t enjoy research papers… so here are some things I have been enjoying, lol. I’ve used Yahoo’s Launchcast Radio off and on for a while and for those of you who haven’t experienced the true joy you’ll definitely have to give it a shot!
Unlike traditional internet radio stations with preset content Launchcast lets you create your own "radio station" where you can rate the artists you like and veto the one’s you don’t. Then launch chooses a custom mix of songs tailored to your preferences and even plays songs based on the recommendations of other users with similar music tastes! The end result, a stream of music that is surprisingly adept at picking out good tunes. If you want you can even listen in to my station if you want. The downside (and it’s a biggie) is that Yahoo is idiotic and only supports IE on PCs or Netscape running on Mac OS 8.5 or 9.22!! Oh and unless you pay "3 bucks a month" you have to listen to short commercials every 3 songs or so, but that’s no deal-breaker in my books.
[Edit] Apparently times are rough at the Yahoo ranch because they upped the price to $5 a month without my even noticing [/Edit]
On a similar, yet completely unrelated note I’ve taken my first baby steps into the world of wikipedia editing. I didn’t feel quite up to the challenge of writing a real article but figured I could at least start filling in the list of radio stations in Virginia since no one else had taken the time to do it. Yeah, I know, it’s not done so if anyone has the time feel free to finish that up for me, lol.
Oh, and I know I haven’t posted a full update on my Thanksgiving trip to Kremlin and Hesston but because I really should be getting back to work now suffice to say that the driving was long but the food, friends and relaxation were well worth it! I even have some pictures, hopefully I’ll run into some time to post them eventually.
