Beth is on her way!!! Just so you know, I’m excited! Unlike past Beth airport pickups I’m actually planning ahead and giving myself PLENTY of time to wait for her at the airport, lol. Our first planned stop: La Junta. We’re gonna spend the night w/ my Grandma Kuhns and then I plan on showing Beth around my old stomping grounds. Fun times I hope. Ok, well I’m off to make some Mac & Cheese so my finacée doesn’t starve after landing. Catch you all later!

First off, if you haven’t read (or heard) about my Big News then read that news first!
Well It’s Tuesday, time for my weekly post In recent news, I’m bored out of my mind! Come save me Beth!! I guess I’ve done stuff. I watched all 250 min (aka 4+ hours) of The Return of the King that Jordan (Beth’s bro) got me for Christmas. I definitely enjoy the added scenes in the extended editions, and now I’m slowly working my way through all the special features Also keeping me going is The Speed of Dark by Elizabeth Moon. A very interesting book and for the most part a compelling read. Just finished chapter 14, the end of which I found especially interesting!
Yeah, other than that I’ve been replacing the radiator of my car (paying the garage labor costs would have been SUCH a ripoff), playing Sudoku, and being uninspired to complete an entry for Twisted DeJanua. Oh, but I did make a new digikitten avitar and signature for myself (yup, they’re the ones you can see on this post). Wondering what the world a "Birdeating Tarantula" is? I guess you’ll have to ask Beth La te da, if you too happen to be bored feel free to search for "my ferrari" on google images, right there on page one (last I checked) is the picture of me, next to my ferrari! lol, I kept noticing random hits directed from google images and just had to figure out how I was getting all this attention. Anyway, I’m off, but I hope you have been slightly amused and/or interested by my ramblings Hasta luego.

I realize this is late in coming but thanks for being patient. As requested by Beth, I now am in the process of updating this website (along with the About Me page). Why you ask? Well, because as of December 21, 2005 at approximately 9:21 PM Beth and I are engaged!!! Smiles all around! The actual proposal followed quite the awesome day at Disneyland. Sharon, Beth & I covered all the rides we wanted (from Space Mountain to the Tea Cups which were way too much fun), ate overpriced food, basked in the 80° weather, and on the whole just had a blast. Then, right before the fireworks show, I proposed & Beth was kind enough to give me the best possible ending to such a great day! (Oh yeah, and the fireworks were cool too ).
Now I’m at home in Colorado again which is nice. Tomorrow is Christmas, that’s cool. So now I’ve got time with family, Beth’s return to CO!, relaxation, and a trip to my old stomping grounds in La Junta to look forward too before I have to return to Goshen. Have a wonderful Christmas everybody!

Well, my time here at home in CO has been flying past, but that just goes to show how much fun I’ve been having The highlight of the break so far was definitely the day of skiing I had with my parents and Beth on Monday. We left home early and by 9 were ready to hit the slopes at Winter Park. Beth had never skied before and my mom was a few years out of practice so dad and I gave lessons the first half of the day. Beth caught real quick which was awesome! She didn’t even fall on the lifts which is quite impressive for a first time skiing trip Anywho, my dad and I hit the blue and black runs after lunch while Beth & mom drank hot chocolate and wandered around the ski village. On the whole it was an awesome trip. I mean, what’s NOT to like about a ski trip to begin with, then add in skiing with Beth and perfect weather, I could hardly ask for more.
Other than skiing I’ve been catching up on Christmas shopping (G), doing laundry, and of course making up for lost sleep Tomorrow I’m watching Narnia with a Goshen gang (Beth, Alex, Meryl, and Lena) and hopefully getting some Noodles & Company for supper. Thursday I flee from dropping CO temperatures… hello sunny California!

Tomorrow it’s time for the big trip home! Beth and I will be driving to Andy’s house in Nebraska and then the next day finishing the trek to Colorado Springs. I’m not sure how many updates I’ll manage to squeeze in over the holidays but between being at home, skiing with my family and Beth, flying to SOCAL for a week, going to the beach and Disneyland, heading home for Christmas week, and finally hosting Beth, Natalie and Andy at my place for New Years I know I’ll keep plenty busy. Anywho, I’m excited to see my family again, excited to be back in Colorado where the sun shines and the weather is above freezing, and excited to watch The Chronicles of Narnia sometime soon.
Oh yeah, and because we have to unplug EVERYTHING here on Goshen Campus… including Guapo, my trusty Linux running iMac. What this means to you: most of my photos will be unavailable until I come back to school in early January. I managed to keep the two most recent galleries online so feel free to enjoy those at least

No no no, not the END the end, but yes the end of the school semester and this crazy amount of stuff I’ve been up to recently This past weekend was just as buys as I predicted but plenty fun too. It was a lot of fun to see so much family and have a chance to show them around campus a little. I never mind the extra bit of eating out that always comes along with family visits either I felt a little bad that I was SO busy with everything else that I didn’t get to spend quite as much time with my parents, but I’ll see them again in a week so I guess it’ll be ok.
Festival of Carols was awesome again this year. For those who don’t know, Goshen’s Festival of Carols is one of the biggest concerts of the year featuring primarily college students. All four major choirs along with the orchestra and local children’s choir perform at the show and Sauder is all decked out with huge christmas trees and garlands. Anyway, it was pretty tiring but well worth the effort and I think things went quite well on the whole (even when we had a surprise visitor :[). Oh, and as an added bonus this year’s performance is being broadcast on TV! Sure, it may be on a public TV station but I still think it’s pretty cool.
Deck the East Halls was quite the smashing event. We had over 100 people visit the house (by our best estimates) tho we were left with a ton of cookies and even a bit of eggnog. It was pretty fun on the whole.
Today I took my parents and G’ma Kuhns back to O’hare and Beth to the ER (no worries, she’s doing ok, just keep her in your prayers that she starts feeling better & that the break will be good and relaxing!). Now I’m doing my best to stay motivated and get the paper writing and studying done that I need. Oh, and I need to take my car to the shop quick before we drive it half way across the country, bah! Hope exams are going well for everybody!

No, I haven’t started drinking beer but I do have quite the lineup of events over the next few days! Heres an outline for your convenience
Thurs: Work and paper writing as much of the day as I can because my major Marriage & Family paper is due Friday. At 8 I’m headed to Chicago because my Mom, Dad, and G’ma Kuhns are flying in for the weekend! G’pa and G’ma Brunk are also going to be here to visit so I’ll be entertaining quite the crowd of guests. Should be fun tho!
Friday: Write as long as it takes to finish dumb M & F stuff. Then it’s time for the first of 3 performances of Goshen’s "A Festival of Carols," the annual Christmas gala. Finishing the night off with Deck the East Halls, an open-house put on by my house… East Hall.
Sat & Sun: Sat Beth & I are gonna make brunch for my family and both days will include much recuperation and then evening repeats of Festival of Carols. Oh yeah, and I suppose I should start studying for finals too hu? Eh… that’ll get done in time I’m sure
Oh yeah! In case you haven’t noticed, I posted photos from my Thanksgiving trip to the Midwest on the Photos page.
